Organizing a Stag or Bachelor Party

Planning Your Friend's Stag Bachelor Party

Bachelor parties are so much fun they're almost worth getting married for. It means the groom-to-be is giving up his single man life and will be putting an end to his woman-chasing days. But as a last "hurrah" your groom is expecting something big for his last chance crazy time before he walks down the aisle.

If you are the man charged with planning the groom's last night of freedom do not fear, planning your own bachelor party event is easier than you think. For inspiration, you need look no further than the best bachelor movie of all time, "The Hangover ". This movie provides worst-case scenarios for every way a stag can go wrong, but you will be inspired by the bromance of it all and it will get your creative juices flowing as you begin to plan your friend's bachelor party event.

When doing your own stag event planning you should first define your budget, who will be chipping in for this event, decide if it will be a stag night or a stag weekend. Have a meeting with the guys. Decide on these details then decide the theme for your bachelor party.

Some popular choices for stag parties include:

1. The Destination Stag - Las Vegas being the most popular destination. Golf resorts are good, Amsterdam for obvious reasons, Rancher get-aways are a fine choice, Hunting trips for the uber-men.

The destination stag will require plane reservations, car reservations and hotel bookings so you will need some advance planning time. If you are going to a city where you want to dine at popular restaurants, make reservations in advance especially when dealing with a large group so they can accommodate you.

2. The Strip Club Stag - This is pretty self-explanatory, book a large table at a strip club and park yourselves.

3. The No-Frills Stag - Steak and shots at the grooms favorite restaurant. Bar-hopping from there or off to the local Hooters.

4. The No-Girls Stag - This male-bonding bachelor party is for celebrating the grooms last time with his buds before he's tied to the ball and chain. The future bride will be on board with this stag because it aleviates any worries she has about her future husband getting any last licks. (pun intended)

5. The Golf Stag - The ultimate bachelor party for golfers who can't get enough golf so a guys golfing stag is the obvious choice.

A few items you might consider having at any stag

1. Cigars

2. Something like a funny bachelor shirt or hat that identifies the groom-to-be so he gets as much abuse as possible from total strangers.

3. Dollar Bills - lots of them, not only for g-strings but for any tipping you need to do to ensure a smooth night.
