Planning a Ballet Recital
|
I was recently working with the local ballet company to schedule and organize their annual ballet recital. There were a number of things that the organizers of the event wanted to get into place as the date approached. They were tired of going through the regular and annual hassle of their previously unorganized methods to put the event together. The ballet director asked me to provide a recommendation for some event planning software. Their goal was to be able to plan and hold their event taking advantage of some of today’s internet, website and software technology. It was important to be able to plan and get input before the actual recital for things like booking the venue, order the required costuming and ballet shoes and pre selling attendance tickets to the recital. The ballet company found that all of this was easily possible and we ordered the software. We found a great place to order the tutus. Each light pink tutu halter dress was custom made for each girl. The tutus were generously layered pink tulle that engulfed the entire bodice of the dress. A large white silk peony met the silk halter tie and adorned the front of each tutu. And a matching flowered headband crowned each dancer as individual little princesses. It was amazing to watch how much easier it was for all of the volunteers that were involved with the organization to put the entire event together. The kids loved the costumes and the parents all commented on easy it was to be able to do everything that they needed from one central location. The ticket prices for the recital were also less expensive if you pre-ordered them. This enticed the parents not to procrastinate and got most of the tickets sold well before the actual event. |
